Make Your Own Fairy Dust
For me, October is the month of magic. I would love to honor the magic of the fairies this month and share with you some information on the fairies and making fairy dust. I love the energies that the fairies share with us. They remind us that we take life way too seriously. We need to laugh, play, sing and dance more in our lives. When was the last time that you allowed yourself to be playful?
The fairies love Discover Your Spiritual Gifts (DYSG) because I have welcomed them to come and live in our center. I have placed Fairy Doors throughout the center, and I have provided them a safe home. I really enjoy sharing information about the fairies to everyone that visits the center. We have sixteen fairy doors throughout the center, and you are encouraged to take the Fairy Door Challenge. FAIRY DUST RECIPE
This month, I would like to share with you how you can make your own fairy dust. Some of the magical elements include:
- Dried flowers and herbs
- Wild bird seed
- Sparkled Colored Sugar
- Crystal Chips
- Mini seashells
- Small candies
- Shiny charms
I was doing some research lately and realized that glitter is not typically bio-degradable. The fairies love shiny things, but if we should not spread it outside when it is not safe for the environment. I have found that colored sugar is so much better.
WHAT TO DO WITH THE FAIRY DUST?
Children love learning about the fairies and making fairy dust. This is a fun project for the entire family. After you have made your fairy dust, what can you do with it? There are many things that you can do with your fairy dust:
- Sprinkle your fairy dust outside in your fairy garden
- Gift your fairy dust to the fairies in your home or garden
- Place your fairy dust on your altar
- Greet the Spring season with a celebration ceremony and gift your fairy dust to a beautiful tree or wooded area
I hope you have lots of fun making fairy dust on a chilly afternoon when we are unable to go outside and enjoy the weather.
