Pushing Pause to Reflect

Pushing Pause to Reflect

Taking the time to pause and reflect on the year!

I believe that this year will be forever carved in our memories. This has been the year that most of us were placed in “time out” for a period of time. The time out included separation from friends and loved ones, cancelation of ceremonies and celebrations, along with isolation from the world. Some of you may have felt that you were being punished for bad behavior and others found that the changes provided new opportunities for them and their families. Some individuals were required to shift their routines to work from home instead of traveling into the office on a daily basis or they doubled their workload with supporting children and their online schoolwork.

This year was definitely different for many of us. However, it provided a perfect opportunity for each of to shift our personal perspectives on our lives and future. When you step into a space of uncertainty, it is important that you open your mind to the new possibilities that have presented themselves. What has been working for you? What hasn’t been working for you?

September is the month for Reflection. This is always the best month for introspection. As we begin to move into fall, this is the time to pause and really reflect on the year.

  • What have been the highlights this year?
  • During the period of isolation, what were the positive routines and/or outcomes that came from it?
  • What did you miss the most during the isolation?
  • What shifts and/or changes have occurred from the pandemic?
  • What are you most grateful for in your life?
  • What new activities, routines and/or behaviors have developed through this year?

  • What do you want to shift and/or change in your life?
  • What are you passionate about in your life?
  • What brings you the most joy?
  • What are you ready to let go of in your life?
  • What are the biggest influences in your life?
  • What relationships in your life feed your soul?

Take the time to be honest with yourself. The deeper that you go within, the clearer you will become on your authentic truth. What is important to you in this time of your life?

I have found that most individuals do not know what they want or where they want to go. They tend to follow the direction of the other individuals in their life, because they believe that is what is expected of them. If you could rewind the clock and return to a time when you dreamed of a tomorrow, what were your dreams and desires? Take a chance and reach for the stars!

First Step

Take time to set clear and specific intentions for your life. Write down the specific details of your intention, including measurable and timely elements. For example: My intention is to launch a successful campaign in raising $100K for cancer research in the field of science at Children’s Hospital by fourth quarter 2022.

Your intentions can be focused on different areas including financial, health, relationships, career/professional, spiritual growth, family, etc.

Second Step

Create small steps to reaching your intentions. Find ways to celebrate small successes along the way. It is easier to stay motivated when you have smaller steps ahead of you versus focusing on the long road ahead. For example: When you are completing a college degree, it is easier to focus on the quarters of the school year versus the four years ahead.

Third Step

There are several different ways to connect to the energies of your year and to set intentions:

  • You can create a vision board that represents your focus.
  • You can journal and document your intentions.
  • You can pull your Tarot cards for the year.
  • You can review your astrology and numerology for the year.
  • You can magically create intention candles for the year.

You may choose one or more approaches to setting your intentions for each year. You should always take the reins in creating the life that you desire. When you accept and allow everyone else in your life to drive your bus, you limit your dreams and sometimes miss out on the best possibilities for your future.

Are you ready to be your own magical creator? Every year our community steps into their own magic and makes sacred candles with herbs, essential oils and focused intentions. These candles bring in all your dreams, your intentions and so much more! Find out more about our Sacred Candles of Intention workshops.
