Do you have a strategic plan for your business?
Do you manage the changes that happen in the market and with consumer needs? The market is constantly changing and it requires shifts in your business.
We have seen the biggest shifts during COVID. The consumer was looking for alternatives for grocery shopping, prescription refills, medical care, etc. Many medical professionals began to offer remote doctor visits with the doctor seeing patients online. Restaurants and grocery stores had to shift to online ordering and delivery. The market made dramatic changes to their delivery methods.
What shifted for you and your business? What are you going to implement this year to meet the demands of the market or to expand your business?
Did you have a growth plan for your business?
You will need to consider these two questions:
#1. Does your products or services lead to your customers returning for more? How often?
#2. Do your offerings provide several opportunities for additional sales?
Return Customers
Take some time to evaluate what you offer to your customers. Would there be a need or desire for them to return every week, every month, every quarter, etc.? Would you return on a regular basis for the product or service?
Take time to think about how you can create opportunities for add-on sales, referral programs, volume discounts, service package offerings, etc.
EXAMPLE: I recommend that my clients get an Akashic Record Reading every six months OR a DNA activation every 4-6 weeks. These are not offerings that would be done on a weekly basis.
Consider some of these ideas:
- Create products that would be purchased together or sets. These products can expand your product offerings and allow you to increase your revenue.
- Develop a referral program that will allow your customers to receive discounts for referring friends and family.
- Create volume discounts or packages for your customers. This will allow them to save money and you will receive an opportunity to provide them with more services or products.
- Design a way to provide them more when they engage with your business. EXAMPLE: If a customer comes for a reading, provide them with information on your classes or another service that you offer.
If the customer loves your product or service, they will want to tell others and they will want to find out more about your offerings. Keep them coming back for more!
Several Opportunities
Find ways to expand your offerings, so that you customers have several ways to connect with your company. It’s about having more than one opportunity for your customers to engage with your business.
When I opened Discover Your Spiritual Gifts (DYSG), it was important to have several different revenue streams for the business. DYSG has the retail store, the event center, and the practitioner spaces. I wanted to have three different opportunities for revenue, and I must manage all three successfully. There are months when one will increase while another one decreases in revenue. It helps in balancing the revenue streams. I have several personal revenue streams: my clients (services offered) and my students (classes offered in-person and online). It is called not putting all my eggs in one basket.
Levels of Your Business
You can create layers to your business. Think about your business in three levels. Level 1: This is an entry level to your business. It should be low cost, easy access, and interesting to your customers. You want to be able to connect with your customers, so that they become interested in your other offerings. You will have more customers accept this offering and not all of them will move into the other levels. These are my $20-$30 class offerings. It allows me to provide them with information without a heavy investment and it gives me an opportunity to connect with them.
Level 2: This is the mid-level stage of your business. This is for individuals that are seeking a deeper dive into a subject, topic, or product. This could be a customer that wants to learn about pendulums, and they buy books along with the pendulum. These are my certification classes for Akashic Records and Angelic Reiki. I will have some people that start in Level 2, and they will start to engage in the Level 1 offerings.
Level 3: This is the upper level of your business. This level is for individuals that are ready to invest in themselves or a make a large purchase. This could be a service package for 3-6-9 months. It could be a series of classes or a product line. This will be for the customers that are ready to commit. These are my Mystery School programs. Some of the individuals that commit will complete all of classes in the Sacred Temple Mystery School. These individuals are ready for transformation, and they are committed to the path.
What are your strategic plans for your business this year? Take the time to think about it and develop your plan.
