BUILDING A SNOWMAN with YOUR INNER CHILD MEDITATION
This meditation invites you to connect with your inner child through the playful and magical act of building a snowman. The snowman represents the innocence, joy, and dreams you carried in your childhood. Through this journey, you’ll rekindle those dreams, explore their significance, and bring their energy into your present life.
***************
Find a quiet, comfortable space where you can relax without any distractions. Sit or lie down in a position that feels most comfortable for you. Close your eyes gently and take a deep breath through your nose. Hold it for a moment and then exhale slowly through your mouth, releasing any tension or stress you may be holding.
Let go of any thoughts or distractions. Focus solely on your breath and allow yourself to become present in this moment.
Meditation Winter Landscape
Visualize yourself stepping into a serene winter wonderland. The ground is blanketed in soft, fresh snow, and the air is crisp and clear. The snow sparkles under a gentle winter sun.
As you walk through the snowy landscape, you hear the crunch of snow beneath your feet and feel the coolness of the air on your cheeks. Notice the joy and calmness that this winter scene brings.
In the distance, you see a small open field, perfect for building a snowman. As you approach, you feel excitement building—just like you might have as a child preparing to play in the snow.
Building a Snowman
Kneel down in the snow and shape the first snowball, forming the snowman’s base. With every handful of snow, feel yourself reconnecting with your childhood sense of wonder and creativity.
Roll the second, smaller snowball to form the snowman’s middle. As you do, reflect on the dreams you had as a child. Who did you imagine you would be? What did you dream of doing? Allow these memories to surface gently, without judgment.
Finally, shape the snowman’s head, placing it carefully on top. As you do, think about the qualities of your inner child: innocence, curiosity, playfulness, and a belief in endless possibilities.
Snowman Comes to Life
Now, decorate your snowman. Add a scarf, a carrot for the nose, stones for the eyes, or any details that feel meaningful to you. Let your creativity flow.
Step back and admire your creation. This snowman represents your inner child—pure, full of joy, and brimming with dreams.
Imagine the snowman suddenly coming to life, smiling warmly at you. It speaks, with a voice filled with kindness and excitement, saying, “Remember the dreams we used to have? Let’s talk about them.”
Sit with your snowman and allow it to remind you of who you wanted to be as a child. Ask:
- What did I dream of?
- Why were those dreams important to me?
- How can I bring some of that joy and magic into my life today?
Listen to the snowman’s answers, letting them resonate in your heart. If any specific dream or memory stands out, allow yourself to feel the excitement and passion you once held for it.
Meditation Embracing Your Inner Child
Take a moment to hug your snowman, embracing the energy of your inner child. As you do, feel a wave of warmth radiating from within. This warmth represents the love and connection you have with your inner child.
Thank the snowman for reminding you of your dreams and the joy of being playful and creative. Promise to carry this energy with you as you move forward in life.
Imagine the snowman gently dissolving into light, merging with your heart. Its energy now lives within you, a constant reminder of the dreams, playfulness, and magic you hold inside.
Meditation Returning to the Present
Slowly bring your awareness back to the snowy landscape. Take one last look around, appreciating the beauty and peace it offers.
Feel the chair or floor beneath you; wiggle your fingers and toes. Take a deep breath, grounding yourself in the present moment.
When you’re ready, open your eyes – carrying the warmth, joy, and inspiration of your inner child with you.
End of Meditation
This meditation helps you reconnect with your inner child and the dreams you once held dear. By building the snowman, you symbolically rebuild your connection to those innocent and joyful parts of yourself. Allow this practice to remind you of the magic and possibilities that still exist within you.
